Mojo Monday 200 and Color Throwdown 151

I was SO excited when Color Throwdown gave us the whole rainbow to work with!!! And I LOVED the sketch from Mojo Monday too!!! This is one of my favorite cards I've made yet (aside from, possibly, the pink butterfly... see comments below). I wanted my rainbow to pop, so I stuck with black and white for the base. I was also so excited for a chance to use my new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, and I used the matching DSP in black, to tie the base layers together.

I think I'm going to change the pink butterfly later tonight, and I'll add a pic of the update when I do...

  1. Love this card! I love rainbows. I think you should switch out the pink butterfly for a yellow one though. The pink one doesn't really flow with the rest of the card. It looks so pretty and gentle on the grass but then all of a sudden you have a rainbow of butterflys! Maybe use a yellow butterfly? Then you have 3 spots of yellow on the card tying it all together.
This is just my observation so you can just ignore me if you want, I don't want to sound pushy or anything.

  2. Hey just sitting here and admiring your card too. I love it..but its odd that I also was looking at that pink butterfly and thinking it was a bit off..and not because of the fact that I don't care for pink :p I was thinking it was just too light/pastelish when the other butterflies were such bright bold colours, it felt a bit out of place ...then I scrolled down and read Jodi's comments, and saw it wasn't just me.(I am a newbie with no colour sense though, so no offense if I don't know trends, hehe) I liked how you did the stitching on the card and the ribbon folding, I haven't seen that before, and thought it was a cool touch to add.

  4. Thanks so much for the input guys :) I actually second-guessed myself about that butterfly too... I kind of thought of it as if it had broken off from the train, and flown off in the distance, but I think, if I hadn't been in such a rush (literally on our way out the door to go camping), I would've made it Melon Mambo instead, so it would match the brightness of the others. Yellow would've been great too Jodi :) I might still change it, so it'll look better on my display board here at home!
